Community Education Specialist – Lewiston
Community Action Partnership is seeking a motivated professional to provide a wide variety of community education and training opportunities throughout our service area.
Under the supervision of the Energy Program Manager, the Community Education Specialist is responsible for development, promotion and implementation of community outreach and education services in the areas of energy conservation and other asset building financial venues for low-income residents in accordance with CAP’s program goals.
Additionally, the Community Education Specialist will work to recruit, train, and manage Senior Medicare Patrol Volunteers, provide training on Chronic Disease Self-Management Education, and disseminate Information and Assistance to vulnerable adults, caregivers, people living with disabilities and the general public.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Combination of education, training, and directly relevant experience considered. Demonstrated experience in providing education and training, prefer background working with people experiencing poverty and vulnerable adults and knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and local assistance programs and services. Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer literacy required. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license with an insurable record and successfully complete a background check.
